Garage Door Repair in Abingdon, VA

Abingdon is about an hour up I-81 from our Chuckey shop and it is a regular part of our Southwest Virginia route. It is also one of the more interesting markets we work in, because the housing splits so cleanly into two kinds of job.

The historic district

Abingdon has one of the best-preserved historic districts in Southwest Virginia, and homeowners there generally do not want a plain flush steel panel on the front of the house. Outside the historic core

The newer subdivisions off Exit 17 and toward Meadowview are conventional sectional doors, and the calls there are the standard ones — a broken torsion spring, a snapped cable, worn rollers, or an opener that has stopped responding.

Insulation is worth more here than people think

Southwest Virginia winters are colder than most of our Tennessee service area, and an attached garage that shares a wall with living space leaks a great deal of heat through an uninsulated door. An insulated door is also stiffer, which matters for how it holds up over years of cycling.
